William “Larry” Pope II, 65, of Morristown, passed away Wednesday, October 20, 2021, at IU Health Methodist Hospital.
He was born June 16, 1956, in Greenfield, the son of William Larry and Charlotte June (Bullis) Pope.
Larry is survived by his parents of Fountaintown; brothers, Lee Pope of New Palestine, and Jay Pope and wife, Karen, of Pendleton; niece, Ashley Gaskins and husband, Greg, of New Palestine; nephews, Josh Pope of Fountaintown, Jeremiah Pope of Pendleton and Jacob Pope of Indianapolis; great-nephew, Taylor Pope of Shelbyville; and great-niece, Lorilee Gaskins of New Palestine.
He was preceded in death by his nephew, Taylor Pope.
Larry graduated in 1975 from New Palestine High School. He obtained his Master’s degree in Commercial Art and Photography from Ball State University. While in college he spent a summer studying in Switzerland.
He was the co-owner, operator and manager of the family owned, F&M Oil Company in Carrollton.
Larry had a vast knowledge of antiques and enjoyed going to auctions. He would often find items of special interest for one of his many friends.
He loved art and shared his talents with his friends and family.
Larry’s other talents were being a friend and the art of giving to others, he helped many people through rough times in their lives.
He loved cats and also leaves behind his cat, Riley.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 pm, Sunday, October 31, 2021, (Larry’s favorite holiday), at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Frazier Chapel, 124 E. North St. in Morristown.
Funeral services will be at 4 pm, Sunday at the funeral home.
