Zona G Lee

Zona G. Lee, 90, of Morristown, passed away Saturday, March 18, 2023, at Morristown Manor in Morristown.

She was born July 4, 1932, in Gwynneville, the daughter of Purnal J. and Mabel (Enos) Tracy.  In May of 1950, she married Thomas F. Lee, and he preceded her in death on May 22, 2018.

Zona is survived by her sons, Steven Wayne Lee and wife, Sue, of Morristown, and Thomas F. Lee Jr. and wife, Andrea, of Lake Ozark, Missouri; daughter, Alta Mae Cory of Gwynneville; grandchildren, Candice Lindamood, Tisha DeBaun and husband, Scott, Steven W. Lee Jr., Thomas F. Lee III, Lindsay Cory, Chance Cory and wife, Leah and Cody Cory and wife, Elyse; step-grandchildren, Courtney Beyer and Justin Beyer and wife, Katie; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to Tom, Zona was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Janet L. Miller, Loretta M. Purcell and Faye A. Smith; brothers, Purnal J. Tracy Jr. and Harry I. Tracy; and grandson, Nathan Lee.

Zona graduated in 1950 from Morristown High School.

She was a member of the Gwynneville Christian Church, where she attended the Ladies Aide meeting and enjoyed baking for church functions.

Zona formerly worked at the Morristown Canning Company and Scherer’s Grocery Store in the 1960’s.  From 1978 to 2018, she worked at the Bluebird Restaurant.

She was a member of the Morristown American Legion Auxiliary and the Morristown Senior Citizen Group.

Zona also enjoyed playing cards with her card clubs.

Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, March 26, 2023, at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Frazier Chapel, 124 E.  North St. in Morristown.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, March 27, 2023, at the funeral home, with Bill Farmer officiating.

Interment will be at Asbury Cemetery in Morristown.
